Silk v North Square (2000)

I really enjoyed the series North Square in 2000 and was disappointed that it only lasted one series. Does anyone agree with me, that Silk is virtually a carbon copy of North Square. I suppose tastes changed, because the wonderful series Silk lasted 3 series. I thought Phil Davis in the original North Square as Peter McLeish the wheeler/dealer clerk would have been a good match for Neil Stuke (Billy Lamb) in Silk. The Silk scripts, could have almost been meant for North Square, the series were both about barristers and clerks, in Chambers. I just noticed that Peter Moffat who wrote Silk was also the creator of North Square, no wonder I noticed the similarities.
