What kind of accent does Martha Costello have?

I watch lots of British TV, but I'm definitely not an expert on accents. Hers seems a little unusual. Can anyone place it?

Northern, probably Lancashire.

As much as I like all the accents in this series, they are quite hard to understand for me!!!
