What city does this movie take place in? I read it was shot in New Mexico, was it set there also? (Sorry, maybe I missed it, or maybe I'm too lazy to look it up). I'm assuming it's some smaller town - because it's a big deal that one of their peers moved to NYC. My point being - if it's supposed to be set "Anytown, USA", that kind of detaches it from its own reality, and diminishes its themes.

shareI was wondering the same thing. The license plates on the cars looked like it had some yellow on it, So i thought it was supposed to be set in NJ (where i'm from) or PA. PA has some yellow at the bottom of their plates.
I've never been to NM but i thought the outside scenes had a "city look" More so than what i would have thought NM looks like

shareI know nothing about NM all i've ever seen are adobe looking buildings and cacti in pictures. I'm stereotyping what i think of NM.
What i should have said was,, In the movie, The outside scenes had more of an "urban look" Something i didn't associate with NM. Obviously i was wrong.
Yeah at least the downtown areas of Albuquerque look very modern just like any other downtown you might see. That being said, while it was filmed there I don't know if they ever said that's where it was supposed to be set
