So who pushed Judith over the railing?

Or down the stairs...? Was it Anna? Was it even a real event? I get that Anna learned to manipulate her own memory but in the end, this film didn´t make that much sense. If I wasn´t so dissapointed with the ending,I would rewatch it,notice when Peter Lundgren is first mentioned and where we see him in the background,if it´s both during the sessions and in Johns..."reality."

And with Cox´s character accused of abuse, the teacher who said this family will destroy Johns Life, yet all those"artistic photos"did exist and on alot of Girls.
That Anna would set John up for a disgusting thing like this, besides framing him for murder temporarily(talk about adding insult to injury),only to get him free, just so she could escape her family...

Mousey did exist but was not called Mousey,an asian girl was. Anna wrote on the back of the Picture in her handwriting playing it like it was Mousey who wrote it...she did poison those Girls, spent time with a girl who had Another name and somehow implicated her in the crime.

Ah,you know what? With the amount of red herrings here and the dissapointing ending,I guess I have to say that this film was just way too smart for me.
I understood Inception just fine but this was a convoluted and in the end very rushed, mess.

This is what I understood:

Anna did pushed Judith because she was both jealous that she was datin john and because she needed a reason to make him suspect the stepfather, who she mentioned that Judith was supposedly sleeping with him.

I think the teacher was indeed taking pictures of the girls, just not of Anna. She was interested in the teacher so she took those pictures to frame him, since she also did it to john framing it's not an strange concept to her. Or lot could also be that they were just random photos downloaded just for the purpose of being found in johns computer after she framed him. Either way I do believe she framed the teacher.

As for the girls, they we're mean so she tried to kill them. The other girl was just a nice girl who befriended anna and probably got screwed over by her.

Judith thought she had locked the door, but if Anna had the key to the observation room, she probably also had the key to her own room. She probably unlocked her door and pushed Judith down the stairs, which makes her a psycho in my book. She couldn't have known she would not be killed or had her neck broken and been permanently paralyzed. She needed her out of the way to create the "John killed me" scenario so they wouldn't be looking for her as a runaway right away.

My bad I got it wrong.

We know Anna was a sociopath, because of that question about the girl and the mother's funeral, meeting a man at the funeral, wanting to see him again, then killing her sister, why?

One of those riddles, and the answer Anna gave: she should have killed her father, not her sister, to get the man to come to the father's funeral. That was sociopathic, plus.

Is John helping Anna by not telling the police about the picture/rose? Why help someone that's so vicious?

reply

We don´t know if John showed the picture/rose or not

reply

John obviously showed the police the picture and rose. That's why he is out of jail at the end. Otherwise he would have "died in prison" like the cop told him.

This is the second time that I've seen you post that you think the mother was pushed over the railing. Nothing happened to the mother. How can you not be aware of this after seeing *Judith* in the hospital with a neck brace?

Jeez I made a mistake. We can't all be as pretty and perfect as you. On the other thread I responded to this:

But why did that matter? Wasn't the whole thing about her pushing her mother down the stairs? It seemed like a long aside that shouldn't have really mattered that much.

Which is why I thought it was the mother.

Why can't you be normal like the other poster and just say it was the nurse that was pushed?? What were you so grouchy about anyway? It's a movie discussion have some dam fun. Belittling others is a sign of insecurity btw.

The real question is if the photography teacher was innocent, why not use a memory Detective to prove it.
