What was up with that thing in the barn.. Was it the woman's clan member too or was the dad having inbred mutant babies with peg?

From reading the reviews I am gathering that this is bio child of the dad. Not sure who the mom is

I think he (it) was the wild woman's child shown in the beginning.

That was the offspring of the lawyer and his wife. If you recall, when the wife told her husband she'd leave him and take her daughters, he retorted using the word "anophthalmia" which is a birth defect involving the absence of one or both eyes and her blames her for it. Later when you see the dog girl in the barn, she's missing an eye from what looks like a deformation. That was their daughter and he had probably been abusing her and made her live with the dogs.
