Beginning

I understand most of the film but the first scene where we first see the woman still has me scratching my head?
Is this maybe supposed to be after the capture and a view in to the future?
As the baby could be Peggy's?!
But then why does the woman rub her belly while looking at the baby as implying its hers?
She also has scars around her tummy implying a caesarian scar?!
Any ideas folks?

It's the baby she stole from "Offspring", the movie/book that occurs before "The Woman".

"The Woman " is the prequel. I got the impression the baby was Peggy's and I figured the belly thing was her way of saying she knew Peggy was pregnant.

No, it is a sequel, NOT a prequel.

Pretty sure the wolves gave her a c-section after shaving her legs and pits. The wolfs also do the soundtrack for his movie, clawing at guitars while the cubs howl.
