Cannibal Holocaust (1980) connection.

Did anyone, after watching it, get a sense that this movie had a connection to Ruggero Deodato's notorious cult horror "Cannibal Holocaust" (1980)?

Besides the fact that it featured a cannibal character here, in this case the captured woman herself, but also the theme on the order of - yeah, cannibals and cannibal cultures maybe far from saints but the so-called members of the civilized humans are capable of being no better and possibly worse?

Remember how in "Cannibal Holocaust" (1980) the television crew proved to be more evil and destructive than the actual cannibals and were later taken revenge on by cannibals for what they did?

Well, here, the woman herself is a cannibal but the dad and the son are no better and she takes revenge for what they did to her as well as on dad for all the other terrible stuff he did as well whilst being member of the "civilized" human race.

Did anyone else think that the director was thinking of, paying a homage to and referencing "Cannibal Holocaust" that way?

The greatest trick the Devil has ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist!
