Is she a good person?

Do you think this woman that the lawyer captured was a good or a bad person?

She was not good or bad in her own world, but to the "civilized" world, she would be very bad, killing and hunting people (except the ones of her pack).

I didn't see Offspring (2009) but apparently she was a cannibal that killed several people. So yea, not a great person. The lawyer would have no knowledge of this though and took her captive without her really doing anything to him. So he is probably worse considering he has done the same at least 1 other time with the girl living with the dogs. And he was also basically training his son the be the same kind of person.

Loved it when the daughter let her loose. You knew the Dad was toast that second.

She is at least as evil as the guy that captured her. This movie is based on a book that is the third book in a series. It isn't really up for debate. It has already been established that this woman is vile.

Also, what IS the deal with all the people bringing up "feminism" discussions and saying its a feminist film by portraying a woman who is bad herself?

Sow who ARE we really supposed to root for in this film if this captured woman herself is bad but it is established that the father and to an extent the son are even worse?

Or is this not really a simple "good vs. evil" flick.

Also - in "Cannibal Holocaust" (1980) there was little to no doubt that the cannibals WERE bad and did some horrific deeds but it turned out that the film crew that was sent to make a documentary on them, despite being victims at their hands, ALSO did bad deeds and not in a self-defense sort of way either.

I wonder if the director had seen THAT film and also established a connection of that sort.

I think people call this a feminist film because without seeing the previous film or reading the books you would think that the abducted woman is a pure victim in all this. I believe that the movie was made in a way that we are supposed to root for the woman considering she is a captive the whole time until the end. Honestly, I never felt that this story fit in with the lore established in the previous books and movie. The story was officially over after the second book, but I read a Ketchum interview where he stated that the third book (The Woman) and subsequent movie were only created to give Pollyanna McIntosh an opportunity to reprise her role in another movie. So to give her another movie, he (and Lucky McKee) came up with this story. It's an interesting story on its own, but again, I just don't think it fits with the established lore. It was as though story continuity from the previous novels was thrown out the window.
