For those that read the book...

I thought this movie accompanied the book beautifully. He was supposed to go to college (in the book it was St. Louis) with Aimee and she had an apartment all arranged and he just waited for her to break up with him because all of his previous girlfriends did. But she didn't so he had to and he ruined all her plans. The book was great though, I read it in just a couple days!

As someone that did not read the book, they should have made it a little more appearant that he was waiting for her to break up with him in order to get out of the whole situation. It felt as if he was going to tell her but never got the courage to do so. An expectation was not fulfilled and it felt like there was a missing plot point in the movie were he finally opens up to her.
