Unfortunately, the only movie I've seen with him is Divergent, and yes he was pretty annoying in that one but maybe that was just because he was Peter which was also annoying in the book.. So was it just Peter or is he like that in real life and other movies?

shareSutter Keely, the character played by Miles Teller in this movie is not really like Peter. Peter is a horrible person, and, in fact, Miles added complexity to the character (made him less hateful). In "Insurgent," Peter evolves a bit into someone more vulnerable and flawed. Even though he saves Tris' life, he's still basically a bad guy. So you can say that Sutter Keely is kind of like a good version of "Insurgent" Peter.
Miles Teller, the actor, has portrayed a wide range of characters so you can't say he is like any of his characters - unless you know him personally. In general, its kind of silly to assume an actor has a similar personality to the character he plays. Besides, this board is about the movie "The Spectactular Now" and not the actors...

Yes he is. I can't stand miles. At first i thought it was just the characters he played that I hated but no I think I actually just hate him lol
shareThe majority of Teller's awards/nominations are for this film and, even more so, Whiplash (2014), wherein he plays an aspiring drummer in the Oscar-winning film. It's also listed at #45 in IMDb's Top 200.
Whiplash is a stronger film, so I recommend him in that one:
