Barry Levinson?

I think he phoned this one in. This is purely for the money, has to be. Anyone could have directed this. It's reminds me of The Dilemma directed by Ron Howard. Are these guys losing their artistry or what?

I don't know. I've always loved his movies -- especially the whole DINER, TIN MEN, LIBERTY HEIGHTS thing. But I'm also a certified horror geek. So I'm kind of pumped. I like when established directors dabble in this kind of stuff.

It's like Woody Allen directing a slasher flick. I'd be down with that.

His career been on the skids lately. Even a great like him can fall off the A list but this, jebus. Hopefully it's a success and gives him the clout back to make something decent.

A similar thing happened to Lawrence Kasdan (Silverado) when the abyssmal film 'Dreamcatcher' was released. When I saw a critic's review on TV and found out he was the director, I went all squinty-eyed and said, "The *beep* is this?"

There are plenty of examples.

Francis Ford Coppola - The Godfathers, Apocalypse now, ... and Jack featuring Robin Williams (!)

Look up John Landis for another example of 'on the skids'
