Those movies were awesome you mean.

"Those movies were awesome you mean."

Lol, no, they were right the first time. Those movies were AWFUL!!!

reply

Why do you assume that everybody shares your OPINION? I mean, I agree that both films were awful, but I know a lot of people that actually enjoyed Paranormal Activity, so they may be interested to know that the same producers have made another film.

We made a land where crap is king, and the good don't last too long.

Please, show me where I assumed that everyone shared my opinion.

you said "those movies were awful".

that's not a statement of opinion. that's an assertion.

"I think those movies are terrible" is an opinion.
I know it's a matter of semantics, but it's also a matter of respect for others.
When you state your opinion in a way that implies that your opinion is the final arbiter on the subject, well, you sound like a douche.

I don't mind if you didn't like those found footage films. I'd actually agree with you. I generally hate that type of film also. So we are actually on the same side here. Except it's just our opinion. Apparently, there are lots of other people who enjoy them. Witness the amount of money they make.

I've watched a few, most of them, actually, and from a purely objective point of view, SOME of those films are actually excellent film-making, whether I like them or not.

reply

Yes, an assertion of my opinion. If I'd said, "Everyone thought those movies were awful," then you'd be right.

And Insidious isn't found footage.

No, you are saying they need to stop putting "From the producers of 'Paranormal Activity' and 'Insidious'" on the posters because YOU think the movies are awful...if you are not assuming everyone shares your opinion, then why should they stop doing something just for you? The way you posted, you stated it as if it were fact, not opinion.

It is fact... to me. You can agree or disagree. 'Twas my opinion.

It is not a fact, it is opinion. Why should the movie industry bow down to your opinion? You don't sound like a douche, you are a douche.

And what do you mean by that?

Well, you apparently think your opinion is the be all, end all fact and the film industry should cater just to your likes and not what makes them money, so you are a douche.

i agree, it doesnt make me think "wow this must be well made", i think "wow, its made by people who have too much money."

reply

I want some back up on all your opinions that Paranormal Activity sucks. Not just "It was slow" or "It didnt have enough blood". I also would like to hear what you consider a good horror film, because in MY books, EVERY film Blumhouse Production has made has been tremendously good.

reply

Paranormal Activity was boring and the ending was hilariously cheesy. Want a good horror film that will stay with you? Watch Lars von Trier's Antichrist or Stanley Kubrick's The Shining.
