So I just finished watching the movie

So after watching this I think I have to agree with some of the other board members. It was kinda scary because it wasnt something you had to totally suspend your disbelief and some of the ideas while unrealistic, steroid chicken *beep* causing mutations still makes you think about what we as humans do everyday. The biggest problems I had were what many other people have already said, the music, the jump scare at the end, the ever so annoying loud jump noise. After sitting and writing this, all I can think of is that if they went with more of a thriller route rather than horror this could have been better. TLDR Not a bad movie one of my favorite found footage movies. I just think it could have been better if the had more of a thriller in mind rather than horror. 6/10

I'm mostly tired of the found footage bit. Especially when using actors that are in other stuff and recognizing them makes it difficult to suspend disbelief.

Also, what's up with the hospital scene where all the lights are off and only some weird emergency lights are on? Did the larvae things get into the electrical too? I just thought it was stupid that because people were dying, the hospital lost power.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Found_footage_%28genre%29 This is the list of Found Footage movies...as you can see, there aren't very many compared to the volumes of regular films, and I really doubt you've seen them all. There hasn't been as many as you'd think but they all seem to come out around the same time.

I loved The Bay and I'm still a fan of the found footage movies. I hope something comes a long that really changes the genre eventually, but I enjoy most of the ones I've seen. (Eyes in the Dark is not one of the ones I enjoyed, lol) I liked how The Bay was almost like a zombie movie, but without the zombies.

As for your other comment: The Hospital staff all left save for the Doctor, so that's one explanation. Also, I got that the hospital was an "Emergency Mode," and not so much out of power. Probably in some sort of lockdown to avoid people getting in or out.
