I guess I'm just not good at keeping track of all the crap going on in a film like this.
I didn't understand the relationships between the characters.
Kate Winslet's role was just weird.
Maybe if I was in a better state of mind but tonight I just wanted something much lighter.
Going through this board I see a lot of people mention how incoherent, disjointed and messy the movie is. I agree. A lot of characters crammed into a moderately lengthed movie, with numerous action sequences, not enough character development.
I see some mention the studio had final cut and are the reason to blame for this, perhaps... it does have the feeling of a movie that was shot and ended up being far too long for the studios liking so it got hacked to pieces in post production for it's theatrical release and just comes out a mess.
If you told me the directors first cut of the movie was a whole hour longer than what we got I wouldn't doubt it.
