I still think it's so stupid that they replaced him with Tyler Perry. Elba is a far superior actor than Perry
what do you guys think? And who would play the other characters.
I could see Enrico Colantoni as Gary Soneji Gabrielle Union as one of his love interests (I have one in mind, but can't remember her name, Alex jr's mom)
i was just thinking about this oh last week when i was reading the big bad wolf.
a pile of dog sh*t would be better suited to play Alex Cross than Tyler Perry. man was he awful as him. i love Morgan Freeman as him but he was always far far too old to play him. what they also NEED to do is stop killing the main villian at the end of each film unless he dies at the end of the book. for example THe Weasel he was in Pop goes the weasel and also london bridges as well.
than you also have the mastermind who is in a great number of the books as well before he's killed off for good. i'd love a tv series they can call Alex Cross. and have it follow the books of course. have Alex be in his 30s' to start out with. cause of the show is on a long time he ages in real time as opposed to the slow passage of time in the books. Alex Jr? that would be Christine Johnson.
i've read the first 9 books in the series by the way. i'm reading them in order in case you are wondering. as for a tv series, i want it to be 22 or 23 episodes not just 12 or 13 episodes. but maybe that's just me?
What a coincidence, I'm currently reading Big Bad Wolf
And yes, Christine Johnson should be played by Gabrielle Union (thanks for that info lol)
I also agree on the 22 to 23 episode mark --------- Just because you are too stupid to understand it, it does not mean that it is a plot hole

i read four blind mice before that and i didn't think it was that good. in fact i think it's the weakest one i've read so far. cause the military being being it all pretty much have been done soo much. and i agree with your choice, though isn't she on scandel right now? when that show ends she should do an alex cross show. what do you think of it so far? it only took me 4 days to read.
his books i read fast most of the time. four blind mice it took me i think 5 days to read. felt longer though. anyways, i'm reading "Now You See Her'
it's ok so far. another story that's been done to death as well. i just started book 3 and on page 175 i think? have you read that one yet?
I'm enjoying it so far. I unfortunately don't have the time to sit down and finish a book in 4 days :P But for the most part, I like it. The Wolf seems like an interesting villain, and the case is definitely an interesting one. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
Gabrielle Union isn't on Scandal, that's Kerry Washington, who I could totally see as Jamilla Hughes, now that I think of it. Which, if they did a series, I'm sure Scandal would be done and over with by the time they get to her point in the books.
I have not read Now You See Her. The only series that I've read from Patterson are the Alex Cross books and the Private books (and I've only read numbers 1 and 3 of that series, well I've listened to the audio books from my local library).
Just out of curiosity, what was your first James Patterson book. Mine was Judge & Jury. My grandma who's a big James Patterson fan gave it to me years ago and I really liked it (although not as much as my second book by him, Beach Road, which is still one of my favorites)
--------- Just because you are too stupid to understand it, it does not mean that it is a plot hole
1stly my mistake than, i don't watch Scandel so i was just guessing, but you are no doubt right. the 1st book i read? well actually it was "Along Came A Spider' back when i was in high school in fact. i'm 36 so i've liked him for a long ass time. the ones I've read are the first 9 books in the Alex Cross novels. i have London Bridges which is the 10th book by him for the Alex Cross Series. which is my favorite series of his in fact.
but here are the ones i've read there are only 14 of his books that i've read and they are 1.Along came a Spider (1993), 2. Kiss The Girls' (1995), 3. Hide & Seek (1996),4. Jack & Jill (1996) 5. Cat & mouse (1997), 6, When The Wind Blows (1998), 7, Pop Goes The Weasel (1999), 8, Cradle & All (2000),9. Roses Are Red (2000), 10.1st To Die (2001), 11, Violets Are Blue (2001), 12. Four Blind Mice, (2002), The Big Bad Wolf (2003), and 14. Now you See her (2011)
i finished that one at 4:30 late last nite. i'm a night owl by the way. since i have to go work 2 morrow there's no way in hell i'm going to stay up that late tonight. but i was off today so it's all good.
i like to read the actual books themselves rather than listen to the audio, or a kindle hence e-book. what can i say i love holding the actual book in my hands. i love the smell of a new paperback book. some people have their fetish's that's mine. though it doesn't turn me on or anything like that.
anyways he he, my mom picked read Along Came a Spider when i was in high school, and than she read kiss the girls. both rather quickly so she talked me into reading both of them, and this was before the film Kiss the girls came out in fact. i think only 2 of his books in the Alex Cross were out at that point. cause i think the newest one was Jack & Jill and i'd read them well i think she'd read them 1st. she can read pretty damn fast in fact. than she'd give the book to me and i'd read them. and we'd get the new patterson out and read it for a few years in fact. than we at some point stopped doing it. i have ADD and my concentration started to really turn to sh*t and i couldn't concentrate
for a number of years starting at some point in the (2000)'s. so until i read Four Blind Mice a couple weeks back i had only read the first 7 books in the series. i do collect his books on hardback though and i recently bought
Now you see her on hardback. a couple weeks back and enjoyed it in fact more than i thought i would. it's always odd not to read his Alex Cross books at least for me it is. since most of the novels i've read of his are that series.
anyways, Private the 1st book was another hardback i bought but i haven't read it yet though. i do have 2nd Chance on Hardback but i haven't read it yet. and i bought it when it was NEW. same thing with Four Blind Mice. it took me that many years to read it!
anyways, for some reason and i count this as a blessing i have been able to read again. since March i've now read 8 books! which is a miracle to say the least. oh and sorry about the length and my ramblings on here
I definitely agree that holding a physical book is a lot easier, but when you don't have a lot of time to sit down and read, sometimes being able to listen to a book in the car is a good alternative. I've gotten a few from my local library, including a couple of James Patterson books. I'm actually listening to Stephen King's Under the Dome right now, but when I get the chance I read a few chapters of Big Bad Wolf
--------- Just because you are too stupid to understand it, it does not mean that it is a plot hole
i can understand from your point of view when you talk about not having enough time that i do understand. it's just when i hear people 100% totally ignoring holding a book in their hands to read it and just read it on their kindle cause it's easier that's where i have a problem.
for me the only audio books i like are the dark tower ones cause you hear different voices in various characters. those are fun to listen to and so are the harry potter ones. and that's; about it. most of the ones that are out t here just had someone famous read it and that just bores the hell out of me. my aunt for example just listens to books now, i dunno when the last the last time she actually picked up a book and read it was. and that's just stupidity if you ask me. but at least you do read real books. and also audio books as well.
i do give you credit for that my friend. anyways i just started Private the 1st book in the series yesterday in fact. i'm only on Chapter 17 though. so i'm not that far into it quite yet.
I completely agree with you. In my eyes, a library full of books will always be more impressive than a tablet with the same number of books. I especially love getting my hands on old books. I have a book of a collection of poems by Robert Browning (my favorite poet) that was printed somewhere between the late 1800s and the early 1900s (it doesn't have a publication date, but I was able to do some research on the publication company that printed it to narrow it down). I was so geeked when I found this out. I feel like you can smell the history in it.
My personal favorite part about having the actual physical book is seeing that bookmark travel from the front of the book to the back of the book. Sometimes I wish I had more time to sit down and read. I remember back in middle school, I was really into Goosebumps, and even though I would only read them at school, I would still blast through them in 2-3 days each (one of them I read in a day). Sometimes other kids would ask why I always had different books every few days and I'd just be like "because I keep finishing them." Then again, Goosebumps are rarely over 150 pages. More recently I blasted through Crichton's Jurassic Park and The Lost World in a couple of weeks (could not put them down to save my life).
--------- Just because you are too stupid to understand it, it does not mean that it is a plot hole
i also read a LOT in school as well and i also read goose bumps. those sometime were actually were scary. and that's not a complaint at all. i actually had nightmares from those books. odd huh from a kids book eh?
there have been books i read in one weekend. in fact just recently i read an ed mcbain book during a weekend. course it was one of the shorter ones as well.
i remember before the film came out in (1996) i read the book Matilda in one night. and i freaking loved it! i also love the film. i just wish there was a letterboxed version of it though. errrrrrrgh! i remember in summer of (1992) when i was 13 i was taking care of my grandmother who had broken her foot when me & her were coming home. well her house anyways, and i took care of her for quite a while. and at the time i was reading Stephen King's IT" anyways it took me a month to read. i don't know if i read it faster than that cause i've read the book a few times.
anyways, i put down Private for the time being, not cause i think it's a bad book but only cause i'm on Patterson Burn out after reading so many of his books in a row. he he so i picked back up IT. that is a book that i had read 728 pages of at some point last year. it also was the 1st time i had read it since i was i think in my 20's. so i picked that back up and i had stopped on Chapter 16. and now i'm Chapter 17. so i'll prolly finish that and than i honestly have no idea what i'll read next. as for Patterson's books. i have a great number of hardbacks that i bought mainly used mostly,. some i got when they 1st came out actually.
my mom picked me up at a flea market for me some books. private #1 Suspect, Double Cross. and i bought at the libary used. Alex Cross's Trial. none of the books have i read yet. sorry for my bad spelling. lol, on what i do, is i number the book on the 1st page of what number book it is, and if the book is part of a series, than i number it that part. there are a few hardbacks i need to replace though cause i had gotten them new. and yes Alex Cross's Trial is one of them.
but since i only spent a buck on it. i can wait ya know?
well 1stly haven has to finish 1st. i don't think that will take along cause i think the 2nd half of the season is the last season i think? and i dunno who i'd want in any role to be honest. i haven't really thought about it but i would love an Alex Cross tv series. just don't have tyler perry do it. in fact don't let him anywhere near it. i do love the idea of starting with Along came a spider though. maybe if it's done right with the right people and they stay true to the books.
they can cover a book a season? so season 1 can be i forget who the villian is in the 1st book to be honest. but don't change it around or rather change things from the book. i dunno if that is the right way to do it or not? but it is a suggestion either way.
well i'd have to look at her filmograhy, but i don't think iv'e seen her in anything but haven. honestly i her acting, as well as some of the other cast in season 1 was very poor acting.but as the show went on the acting i think has gotten a lot better. iv'e also watched the show from day 1 in fact. i am thrilled they know ahead of time to give the show a final episode. i'm also a HUGE stephen king fan as well. and thank you for the nice compliment :O)
