Electric current transmitting wi-fi broadband internet

Is that even possible? I've heard of induced electrical current removing the need for electric cables, but that, I do not know.

Why are you here if you haven't seen the movie yet?

reply

I don't think so. But so much of this movie is far-fetched anyway--which is fine, because this is just a funny movie that's not meant to be too realistic. For example, if they really were throwing a TV out a window and causing a fire in the office high-rise in Chicago from Christmas lights, the police would be on the scene ASAP.

reply

Good points. But I thought that was a VENDING MACHINE they threw out the window? Highly dangerous, as it could've crushed a bystander in the street below!

Thinking about it, I think you're right. It was a bit hard to see at first due to the dim lighting in the room when they threw it out, besides the large box shape.

It was the vending machine

or hopefully

it was the vintage server talked about but not seen

reply

It was the vending machine. Earlier someone complained about the prices being raised again.

We DID see the server. That was the ancient piece of equipment with the phone modem needed to get their magic power grid Internet relay online.

I found it odd that they didn't use the screeching that the old dial up modems used. Would have been even funnier if they threw in a couple of bdwang bdwangs. Of course, that could have been so ancient that too many viewers would not have gotten the reference.

NOPE, it is not. Ridiculous things like this ruin movies...

It was a stupid impossibility the same way 90% of everything was in Shia's stupid "Eagle Eye" movie.

reply

You must be a hoot to go watch movies with.

reply

It's possible, and if you'd done a quick search, you would have seen there are cities that are doing that.
