Cliche or not, I thought this movie was great.

First of all, once the first few minutes of the movie played, I immediately thought of Letters to Juliet. But whatever, I'm a sucker for these kind of movies so I stayed and watched it till the end. Which good thing, I did! It is probably one of the top best Hallmark movie I've seen in a while.

All the characters really played there part rightfully in this movie. I was probably more interested in the Betty White story line-plot but who can't fall in love with Sean Faris. Anyway this movie is pretty good. It has a bittersweet story but if it wasn't for that, I probably would have turned the tv off and went back to studying Pharmacology for my quiz tomorrow. I don't regret doing it though. Like I said, I really loved the movie and something about Betty White in sad movies make me tear up lol. It was also kind of cool how they involved a part of history in this movie (ie Philippines, WWII, etc.) My grandfather was a veteran in WWII.

So in conclusion, I would definitely recommend this movie to my friends and family who likes love story movies.

I loved the 40's flashbacks and I cried along with Caroline when Taps was played. I also had a lot of other things to do but I was enchanted with the story. They don't make men like that anymore.

Why ain't you at the garden party you heathen?

I cry every time I hear Taps being played. My last visit to Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery on Point Loma in San Diego was the day before Veterans'Day this year. I went up to put flowers on my husband's grave and a trumpeter was practicig for a funeral in a few minutes. Lost it for about half an hour straight as there was a delegation from the Marines placing a wreath on another Vet's grave complete with the song and full salute near the funeral area. This movie brought back memories of when my husband passed away and his funeral. He was a Korean War Vet.
