I was wondering about those same two things! Especially the bit about his body. What happened there???
shareIf I had to guess I'd say he dried out. The microbes animate the corpses to seek out water. You'll notice all the infected crave water, and I'd say instead of feeding on people's meat they're trying to feed on the moisture in their bodies, i.e blood. The microbes animate them to find new sources of water and to spread so they don't die out as they eventually desiccate their hosts.
shareMaybe that's what was going on when that one was licking the floor after that bottle got spilled on the floor, they never did explain the significance of that (we didn't even know what had been spilled.)
