The annoying pot smoking flirting girl

First of all, why would they put a girl in a scared straight program with men with teen boys when she should have done scared straight in a women's prison?
I seriously wanted to smack that flirty look off her face. She was flirting with the football star, and was trying to be all cutesy. Take her to see women who will make her their "b!tch" and then maybe reality would kick in. I think she knew she would never go to the men's prison so she didn't care. She even asked that jock to "protect her" like she was some poor little girl. I could tell by the end of the show, he seemed to take it serious - No one is going to protect her from the women who will make her their girlfriend.
Also, they didn't give her a hard time for being disrespectful either. Of course she was the ONLY one out of all of them that didn't change, including the jock and her brother.
To them, that jail was their possible reality, for her she knew it was only for men.

I was wondering why they mixed her in with the males, also. I'm a female & I admit that some of the women prisoners they've had on the program scare me MUCH MORE than any of the male prisoners. They should've stuck her in a women's prison ...

I don't think the show really has control over this. They are filming kids as they go to already-established prison programs, so my guess is that there is no prison program in the women's institutions in that area. They probably just send the girls there too. I don't think it's as effective either, but it's a shame that it isn't.

That's a good point. I never thought of that. There are probably not many of these programs, so they've got to take what they can get.

Women's Prisons are few and far between, California has like 30 male prisons and only 2 or 3 female ones. There might not have been a women's prison close enough that runs this program. There might not be enough troubled teen girls in her area whose parents are willing to sign the release.
In this day and age you can't run a state funded program for only males, females have to be included.
