I wanna be a teen mom ...

Oh, how I cringed when I heard that come out of a 14 year old's mouth. Thankfully, at the end of the episode it stated she was practicing safe sex ... and she had a cat to love on.

I'm sure her comments were prompted from a certain program on an unnamed network that rhymes with MTV.

lol .. Yeah, I have to admit they make raising a baby as a teen mom look like all butterflies and unicorns ... when it's not.

I have watched a couple of episodes, and it seems that they want to show that kids are not mature enough and responsible enough to have and raise babies, but that doesn't seem to be the message they take away from it.

If people still had large families, they'd have wound up taking care of younger siblings and been given an eye-opener about having babies. Unfortunately, too many kids are from one and two child families and remain self-centered far too long.

I've seen several episodes of "Teen Mom". There is NOTHING about that show that glamorizes teen parenthood, believe me.

I didn't say it did, I said that seems to be the idea teens still come away with from viewing it.

OMG! it's not what you think

Neither did the person that replied imply that you said that. They were referring to another person's comment.

Seems you're a bit defensive. Did you have a kid at a young age or are you just jealous because yours died?

rph, I agree ... I'm going to rephrase how I said that. As an avid viewer of the Teen Mom shows & 16 & Pregnant shows, I do not think the show itself does not glamorize teen parenthood. I think it's more of the tabloid sensation surrounding the girls that might give a few younger girls the wrong idea.

That being said, IMO it is not up to MTV, the tabloid magazines, etc to set standards for young viewers - that's up to the parents. Tabloids & tv networks are there for entertainment purposes only.
