different this season: they put their hands on the kids

I noticed this season was a lot more hands on the kids even the prisoners. Before they could yell at the kids get in their faces but never put their hands on them especially the prisoners but this seasons the cops are tackling them to the ground like real prisoners and then the prisoners were picking them up against the wall.

My other questions is since these kids admit they are doing these crimes why aren't they just put straight in jail instead of this program?
Also I think some of these kids (a lot of these kids) just say they do this crap in order to look tough.

I guess playtime is over... these kids wants to act like grown-ups? They will be treated as Grown-ups.

I'm very curious if the people that are running these programs, A&E, and producers of the show are going to be in trouble if they show that the program now has police officers putting their hands on the delinquents.

I know this is a program where they have to scare the living heck out of them but it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt really badly.

This show is probably going to get cancelled if A&E and even the people that are running these programs continue showing episodes where the officers are tackling them to the ground get sued.

Besides, this show has become very repetitive and will do whatever it takes to get more viewers to watch it.

The parents probably signed a document stating they can do and show whatever they want. Since giving them ice cream / being nice to there kids didnt work, the parents probably accepted that they need a "Hands-on" approach to deal with them.

reply

If they did something like that then that is just idiotic.

I understand they want to scare there kids but if this was true then there kids would probably get more pissed and commit more crimes.

Which is what the show is known for doing: Causing some of the kids to commit more crimes.

Besides, just look it up and you'll find out that these Scared Straight programs don't even help and the kids that claim they're getting better are probably going to go back to committing more crimes a couple years later.

A&E will never get into trouble.

Remember Intervention? There was a reason the producers never got in trouble, or anyone on the show for that matter, for filming all the stuff they did. They literally hide behind walls of production companies that can take a hit for filming and lawyers who can make sure that nothing they air gets them into *beep* Someone explained it to me in detail once but I can't remember more than the gist of it.

Also the parents have to sign waivers before hand but even if they decided they *beep* up the actual network can't be blamed. It's like when you're a freelance artist and you have to go from person to person, company to company. You don't have one place to say you work at but you go around; that's like those production companies.

reply

I see.

You do raise a good point.

reply

The parents can sign all the waivers they want but if one of those kids get seriously hurt you better believe CPS is going to show up asking questions.

I just watched one where in the lineup at the very beginning of the show one of the 16 y.o. was mouthing off and a guard had to restrain him. It escalated where they had to take this fool down and shackle him with his mother sitting there. This guy has serious self-control issues; actually threatening an inmate. Later I saw that the choke hold used on the kid opened a long gash that needed a Band-Aid before he left for home! This fool will be dead sooner than later. He thinks he's big and tough. Another one was so tough, he couldn't say anything to his mom so she'd accept him back home. He'd rather stay at the prison than apologize for his behavior and promise to turn his life around. Now that's bull-headed. Good looking kid too that these hoods would eat alive in that hell hole. This one may not be saved. Seems as if he must want to die.

This is all done with the parents' permission. These parents (most of them) are at the end of their rope with their kids, and look at this program as the last chance to save their kids. As such, I have a feeling that these parents are all on board with whatever the officers (and possibly the inmates) have to do to scare the crap out of these kids and get them to stop their bad attitude and behavior.

Frankly, I think they need to just be allowed to beat the crap out of some of these kids, and show them the REAL truth of a jail.

This bull of "oh, you can't hit your kids, that's abuse..." just doesn't wash with me. People need to be allowed to discipline their kids, and if that means spanking them as young children, then so be it.

If they did true disciplining, maybe half these kids would be more respectful of people than they currently are!

yeah but half the time, the parents are the problem, their living situation is th problem.

I'm not saying it's an excuse.

I'm just saying that based on a alot of the parents, I know why there kids are the way they are.
