All British/ Ausie actors

Anyone else find it interesting that all the main actors in this film are not American, despite it being about famous American authors. It doesn't bother me or anything, I love the casting choices, just found it weird.

Not all. Laura Linney.

More like it's a co-UK/US production, and I'm sure there was a backroom deal regarding casting mainly British actors and filming entirely in England (even though it takes place in the US) in exchange for tax breaks. Hollywood studios are no different than corporations. Just as corporations ship jobs overseas for cheap labor, likewise Hollywood has been doing a lot of that with their movies. The UK government lures Hollywood productions with their incentives.
