I am sick and tired of male centered movies. Isn't 100 years of man feels enough?? Do we have to have man feels movies in 2016?? I'm sick of it. Why do great talent like Nicole Kidman has to play second fiddle to Jude Law? Like why? The saddest part is that, female moviegoers love the man feels too. When a female centered movie is done they don't support it.
You don't accuse "based on true story" for being historically correct you accuse them when they aren't.
Whats the point of making a almost but not at all based on a true story movie?
But yes it is sad female centered are not supported or loved, i mean if there were a good choice of those nobody would mind having male dominated to choose from also.
Let me get this straight. You people are fighting sexism in movies and yet, you don't want to see another movie made centered around a man... even though, so many more men have proven themselves to be worthy over the years??
Don't give me that horsesh!t about great female historical figures being forgotten or ignored. It's BS. They just weren't that great. It's that simple. Mary Shelley never made anything great outside of Frankenstein... but she did make Frankenstein. That's the same with the Bronte sisters, Austin, etc. They are remembered and rightly remembered for their accomplishments. BUT those accomplishments aren't as great as what men like Fitzgerald or Wolfe or fcking Hemingway were able to accomplish. And I'm not talking about being able to succeed based on their gender. I'm talking about talent.
You ladies have J. K. Rowling now. Look how successful she's become. God. Would you get off your "Poor me" soap box and actually try to make something of yourselves?? Would you show the masterminds like Hemingway PROPER RESPECT?? Maybe then, more women will be shown proper respect.
Get off your soapbox while I play you a tune on the tiniest violin.
Because white men have been the authors of history and determine who is important. We occasionally get the story of "others." A recent example: Hidden Figures.
