Can you watch this movie without seeing the first two movies?

I've wanted to watch this series but have never gotten around to it. Do I need to watch the first movies before seeing the 3rd?

The first one is a great film so you should definitely check it out.

I personally didn't care for the second one but it wasn't terrible and if you're going to see 3 you might as well watch it.

I'm really looking forward to 3, I love most of Fuqua's films.

Reviews say you can watch the third without seeing the others. The first one is very good, but the 2nd is forgettable.

Trust me when I tell you you only need to see the original. And skip the other 2. This is not a Mission Impossible situation where the sequels actually get better as they go.

It doesn't matter except what he gives her at the end you would need to know the history of.
