But he's just a kid...
The old adage suggests that you "crawl before you walk". That's about having the tool pallet to cope with whatever comes your way, and more importantly, the sufficient skills to be self-made and do exactly what you want in your own design.
Some people learn this by the time they're 18 through losing everything they've ever known, and they make the conscious choice to land on their feet when life spits them out. Others never learn this because they either succumb to the obstacles and sink, or are instead given everything they need and their way is paved for them. Here's to the flagship of pop musicians who don't write any of their own music, of people who have never had to stand and fight for anything in their life, of knowing no heart full stop - here's to Justin Bieber.
While some of the directions they get may, at times, not be to their personal favour, it doesn't matter because the end result is all the same - the fame, the money, the girls/boys, and they will never be anything other than made - because they have been crafted by someone else's hand. Justin Bieber was skyrocketed into the spotlight without any personal effort.
Asides from the fact that Justin Bieber as an individual is selfish, arrogant, and ungrateful, it's what he actually represents that is the great white problem. He is a result of everything that is misleading popular culture with an utter lack of substance. Yes, he is talented. So what? Ask yourself that. So actual what? Did he work hard to turn his voice from a cat's screech into what it is...? No, it's just something he was born with. Now not to say he shouldn't have it, because that's just how nature goes, but the fundamental principle here is that he is universally recognised and 'adored' by some for an item of nature he had no choice in - he did nothing to specifically earn having a good voice.
Just stick that in contrast to all the musicians with true emotional substance in their work, wading through dead end jobs to fund their (potentially) dead end dreams because it's what they so terribly want to do, but just can't seem to get a foot in the door no matter how much blood, sweat, and tears they've put into it. If you still don't get it and are going to give me "but he's just a kid" then you can see yourself out.
