A remarkable child actor...

...in a bland movie.

YES! You took the word out of my mouth ! This is exactly my opinion of the film. Definitely overrated but the one thing strangely people seems to completely ignore is just how freaking good that kid was ! Really good ! Like the best child acting I saw in a long time yet people talks a lot about every aspects of the movie except of the only one that really impressed me most wish is how good that little kid was. I actually think he was the best actor in the all movie. I hope he gets more role, he has a bright future.

I liked the movie, but yes, how he wasn't nominated for any major awards is unbelievable.

On the contrary, I didn’t think he portrayed a blind person at all. He looks directly at people talking to him. His eyes are looking and seeing. If I hadn’t read the synopsis of the film, I would not have known the boy was supposed to be blind.

At approximately 1 minute in the movie, you have a scene in which he turns on the water, and confirms the open position by thouching the static part of the faucet. That scene clarly explains that he is blind.
Some appreciate that more than a forced dialogue scene that explains that he is blind.

reply

I can't imagine anyone watching this movie and not realizing the son is supposed to be blind.

reply

Later on in life, he'll mourn the fact that he gave his ass up to pedophilia producers, for a movie this mediocre

reply

The kid reminded me of Jeremy Black in The Boys from Brasil
