OT: Excerpt from Bruce Timm interview
There was an excerpt in Wizard Magazine this month from an interview with Bruce Timm. The main interview was about "All-Star Superman" but they also delved into some of the other projects he's working on for DC.
Batman Year One: "Just like the comic, it's very much set in the real world, even more than the Christopher Nolan movies. There's no science fiction in this movie. There are no larger-than-life elements at all. Even BM's gadgetry is very low tech, even by 1986 standards [when Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli's classic series was first published]. There's no Batmobile; theres's no Batcave; there's no Bat-signals. He's literally a guy in a cloth suit, with a couple of small gadgets doing his best to beat the crap out of crime".
Green Lantern Emerald Knights: "It's just a really good opportunity for us to go outside the Hal Jordan box. There's all those other really interesting characters in the GL Corps universe, that doing the anthology format like we did with 'Gotham Knights' really allowed us to explore some of these other characters. And we're including the famous Mogo story by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons."
Green Lantern: The Animated Series: "I would be shot tomorrow if I talked about it. But it's going to be great. If we play our cards right, it's going to be unlike anything you've ever seen. We're planning on premiering it as a special next fall and then the series will start early 2012".
Sundance:"I'll go"
Butch:"This is no time for bravery, so I'll let ya."
