he's not dead he's fixing the sun..

IS that the believe of lois lane or is he really dead? anyone?

You May Be The Big Fish In The Water, But Up Her I Am The Shark

reply

No, he's not dead. But his body is now pure energy and he is trapped in the sun providing it an artificial heart to keep it running.

He almost might as well be dead and it's unlikely he will be able to return to Earth.

For such a fun, lighthearted story, it has a very heartfelt and bittersweet ending.

reply

I really wouldn't call it a fun lighthearted story. If anything its actually one of the more depressing DC movies

I agree with what Eric The Mericful said. Good story but not my type of Superman movie.

"It is well that war is so terrible -- lest we should grow too fond of it."

Going by DC One Million, which Grant Morrison also penned, Superman eventually does emerge from the sun in order to defeat Solaris the Tyrant Sun once and for all. He and Lois are also finally reunited as well. DC One Million serves as a nice epilogue to All-Star Superman (even if it was published years prior).

exactly. and somehow, lois knew this would happen, which allows the film and comic to end with a considerable degree of hope.

before we get started, does anyone want to get out?

This mellow thighed chick just put my spine out of place!

He is not and should not be dead. If anything it reminds me of DC One Million.

In that issue the current JLA was recruited by the JLA of the 853rd century to help battle Solaris. They even had multiple Supermen. But they failed.

Solaris shot something into the Sun thinking it would kill Superman. It was the last GL ring. Superman then came out of the sun and instantly destroyed Solaris with the GL ring.

This superman was also pure energy and pretty much a god.

Who give a f_uck!!!

This is the best Superman movie that I have ever seen.

Every time I close my eyes, I wake up feeling so horny!!!

reply

He's not dead. Certain parts from the limited series were left out, like going back in time to smallvile and teaming up with his decedents. I forget what issue it was but the flower he left on his fathers grave was given to him by Superman(Golden)Prime from the recreated Krypton. So the Dc 1,000,000 events take place, albeit differently.

reply

<Generation "me" is an EPIC FAILURE>

reply

In terms of its own story/movie it is left for you to wonder if Lois is correct or in denial.

But people are correct about DC One Million.

"Need" is just a fiction. As is "should", "must", "value" and "importance".

reply

What about the end scene in the movie where the scientist talks to Lex and gets Superman's DNA profile to possibly create a copy?

reply

Well even a clone would be a completely different person without the memories.
Superman is Clark Kent. A clone would have a different personality.
