Season 4 in 2020?

Let's take a look at each season:

Season 1 (2010)
Season 2 (2012)
Season 3 (2016)

So really, expecting Season 4 to take a couple of years to be produced is no surprise but I'll patiently wait because it's worth it.

By the way, I did not know the show had gotten a third season because last I read on this board a user had told me it was finished.. clearly not. Thanks, hotrats2112 (from the Arrested Development board) for unintentionally notifying me of Todd Margaret's 3rd Season. 

I don't know. After season 2, David Cross said he had no plans to continue the series but since so many people wanted a 3rd season he eventually caved and did it*. I haven't heard of him doing a season 4 yet, but maybe he'll change his mind again?

*he revealed this on a recent episode of The Daily Show.

There were obvious reasons why season 2 should have been the end of the show.

Season 3 was one long reset button that put them in a position to comfortably make more seasons. Given how it ended and that Cross caved once and has shown no signs that he wants this to be the end, now, I think a fourth season is very likely so long as the channel is happy with the performance of season 3.

I was more than happy with Season 2's finale but then I read they produced a new season so I came back. After this, they really have to continue the story because it's no way to wrap up a show.

^^^^ This

The show went out on a high with the season 2 finale, S3 has kinda ruined the show as a whole for me. The only way it can be rectified is with another season. If S3 is truly the end then it was a pointless exercise that pretty much butchered the show.

Oh, that's good that he's interested in still continuing! Thanks for the update!

Well, they replaced and switched actors and characters in Part 3, so why can't they just put a new actor into Todd's role for Part 4? Sure, his deadpan delivery of the lines makes the show, but they seem very willing to take the show in very new directions.

If the first two seasons were two years apart and the 2nd and third 4 years apart then the third and fourth would be 6 years apart and arrive in 2022, not 2020. That's like maths for a 10-year old.

It's a rough estimate all in all and honestly, the show didn't need a third season. Season 2's ending was perfect.

Too bad 2020 passed and no more Todd Margaret
