It's an 'okay' movie…
… not the best of the litter. I consider this a "small" film, i.e., with minimal locations. The pacing made this film work. Zoey's always good in any of her films.
"The Message" was pretty hammered in but seems to be arriving from a good place. For reasons, the movie reminds me of "A Walk to Remember" (2002) with the hs setting, clicks, maturing within bases of morality, and death.
That being said. The music is awful throughout and perhaps the narration delivery could have been better.
