Being released on the same day as Wonder and Smurfs: The Lost Village?
Man... I don't know how this is going to turn out...

Yeah, I was surprised they went with an April release date. I was expecting a quieter month, like January/February. But I still have faith that this movie will do well. The most important thing is the marketing. I want the story to receive the respect and attention it deserves. I hope they go the route of marketing it as a heartfelt, dramatic film rather than just another typical high school affair. So far everything released has been looking really, really good, so I have high hopes!
shareI agree with you. However, Wonder is my favorite book of all time, and Before I Fall was also an amazing book. I have no idea what book fans will pick though when they go to the box office. They're even releasing a Smurfs film on this day. I feel as if things could get messy in terms of opening weekends. I guess we will see what happens. I can't wait for both this trailer and Wonder's trailer to drop.
Have a good day!
I've seen nothing but good things about Wonder and your high praise makes me even more intrigued - I definitely need to move it to the top of my TBR list, at least before the movie comes out!
Well, guess we don't have to worry about the loaded weekend anymore - the release date was just changed to March 3! It's up against Wolverine which is, well, huge, but there aren't as many films it's up against, especially not ones in its demographic. I think this will be a good move!
It is going against LOGAN ( aka Wolverine 3 ... and Hugh Jackman's farewell movie in the role).
The first trailer for LOGAN has come out and has drawn universal raves because the tone and the look of the movie are not that of a typical superhero movie. Its director James Mangold describes it as " real, humanist, moving, and violent".

This is going to be formidable competition!
