Missing some of the 'dark' overtones from DM1 - including Bank of Evil

Hey all,

I enjoyed Despicable Me 2 (liked the Lucy storyline, and Minions are cute and funny as ever, maybe just a little bit overused), but it's a shame that they dropped some of the more "mature" story themes that were present, though not obvious, in Despicable Me original.

Whe you think about it, the original had references to:

child exploitation (Miss Hattie's orphanage and Gru himself in the beginning)

child neglect (again, orphanage, remember the "box of shame"?)

financial blackmail by a powerful organization(Bank of Evil)

selfishness and nastyness of the main protagonist (as Gru seriously considered abandoning girls a couple of times)

etc, etc...

One of the aspects that I didn't like was the villain El Macho - good voice performance by Bratt, but still, not nearly as threatening as Perkins from DM1.

If there is ever a Despicable Me 3 (not talking about the upcoming "Minions" movie, though I'm sure it will be great), I would really love to see Bank of Evil director guy Perkins come after Gru in the third one - he has every reason to be angry with him after DM1.
Who's with me? :)
