Minions = Rabbids

c'mon, how could they not be? Their mannerisms, appearance, psychology, etc are so much alike that at first I thought they were surely licensed from Ubisoft Raving Rabbids. But this seems not to be the case!

The movie was partly made in France, where Ubisoft is originally from and the Rabbids are a total success. So the Minions seem to be VERY MUCH inspired. I wonder how some legal battle still did not take place.

Thanks for the mention. Never heard of them but after watching some YouTube vids I concur!

Esther: My name was in the Bible!
Fred: Yeah, Samson slew the Philistines with your jaw-bone!

When one of the minions started screaming, I instantly thought of the Rabbids.

Their voices are somewhat vaguely similar. The fact that they both like to get into mischief, and are for the most part harmless except against themselves and/or inadvertently against others, makes it a very striking resemblance. Not to mention both of them have their own gibberish language when they speak to each other.

I thought of them right away when I saw commercials for the first Despicable Me.

I thought that maybe the company that made Despicable me also made Rabbids.

Minions breed like rabbids as well.

Minions = Rabbids
If you rob the Minions of all personality and just have short guys talking funny, then . . . sure.
