The real problem with VA

It's a movie that has a great concept and world. That is ruined by all the teenage high school crap. The idea of this vampire world is fantastic the setting of the high school kills the movie. It works ok in book form but not on screen and the screen writers did not help. If you take them out of the VA put them on the run using flashback sencs to show rose training and some other plot points it might worked a little better. I say this knowing that everyone on this board is going to freak but think about it. It plays like a bad Veronica Mars epsoied with some clueless tossed on top. It was waste of good vampire concept. Oh and one liners from the books where much better written. I read the books after seeing the movie the people that made this film should be ashamed. Maybe it they take mortal instruments rout and make it TV show on like CW or ABC family like MI it could work better but the academy setting will always doom it as a film.

I also read the books after the movie and loved them but I adore this movie. It's sweet and funny and completely entertaining. Everyone I've loaned it to loved it as well. Ages ranging from 18-53

I just saw the movie and enjoyed it. Was really disappointed to learn it flopped and won't get a sequel. If they had given it any publicity it probably would have done better.

VA was the movie I was looking forward to watching the most on that year. It's amazing that after this garbage people still read the book series. I can't even begin to explain the anger I felt after watching the movie. First, the producers should've gotten a director that would be better at storytelling and action. You could tell right away that this director had no experience on either thing......
I think a tv series would work perfectly for this book series. Since there is so much mythology they could pull from the VA and Bloodlines series, they could make a good solid 6 season tv series or even longer if they find a good way to build the show. If they do a tv show, they really need to get on the ball and not slack off.
