VA is so cliché and cheesy it's actually good
I had no expectations when starting to watch this film whatsoever. The fact I had never even heard of it, meant that it's not one of those great vampire films.
And yes, it had some very bad lines ("They say Dimitri is a God, well I'm an atheist, an atheist with a big gun"), stupid jokes, plot that went on way too fast with way too many side plots, cheesy teenage drama and so forth, but not every movie has to be top-quality, does it? As cheesy as this film was I actually enjoyed it, rooted for Hathaway and Dimitri, hoped that Christian wouldn't turn evil like his parents, enjoyed the friendship between Lissa and Hathaway and so forth. Movie doesn't always have to be Oscar-material so you can enjoy it. I liked this film without any particularly good reasons. Almost so much I hoped they'd do a second one just so I can enjoy that one too.
