Were there two versions of Whip's death scene?
1) Whip was tied by two belts, and then kicked to death.
2) Whip was straddling India and then had his neck broken.
Was one a fantasy and one reality?
I realise that reality is a movable feast in this film!
I believe the sequence was...
Whip was tied by two belts and beaten a bit, but then extricated himself from one belt and crawled to India and tried to grapple with her, upon which Uncle Charley loops the discarded belt around Whip's neck, braces his back, and proceeds to stretch Whip's neck until it gives.
It has been a while, if I'm wrong someone please jump in and correct the record.

You may be right.
I saw the kicking on the ground as a revenge fantasy, and the straddling/strangling as a sexual fantasy, although I don't doubt at least one occurred.
The doubt for me is that having been overpowered and trussed up by Uncle Charlie, would Whip have still tried to rape India?
Knowing that Charlie was still there?
