Which american actors would you choose for the parts of both Philippe and Driss?
I would choose Dustin Hoffmann as Philippe and Chris Tucker as Driss.
I think it would be great seeing Chris Tucker as Driss, don't you think? He's damm funny and the character would suit him very well.
This movie should never be remade. I just finished watching it and it was perfection in its present form. A Hollywood remake would be syrupy sweet and as remakes go, ruin a great film.

Why remake it? Everytime americans try to remake good foreign movies they make a big crap out of it. Just learn to read the subtitiles and enjoy it. No need to spoil a great movie.

Dustin Hoffman would be great as Philippe. Chris Tucker would work as Driss, I guess, but Curb Your Enthusiasm's J.B. Smoove would be better. That's the first thing I thought of when I started watching this movie.

This turned out to be a really good movie. And the picture quality for some reason was pristine.
Grade: B+/A-.
I certainly hope they don't remake it, but the only viable choice for Driss is Mehcad Brooks (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1419635/).

I hope there is never a remake so I don't choose any American actors for the main characters' roles. Hollywood is full of too many remakes and needs to produce some good, original stories without just trying to outdo the last person's casting, make-up and special effects.
