Why was the rain orange?
I really enjoyed this movie, but the color of the rain at the end was weird.

While I'm not aware of any specific parallels from religion (I'm a bit ignorant of scriptures), I always took it as just being an indicator that something much larger, more supernatural, and more world-changing than a mere storm was on the horizon. Signifying that the prophecies that the protagonist was receiving were more akin to a Moses sorta thing than, say, something more local like that kid from Final Destination got. The rain turning into something weird just has more of an eerie biblical/apocalyptic feel to it, ya know?
