Petition to bring back Camelot

http://www.change.org/petitions/starz-renew-the-epic-arthurian-series- of-camelot-presented-to-us-by-starz#signatures

If anyone else enjoyed the show, as I did, then it doesn't hurt to try.

reply

I signed it.

Open the door for Mr. Muckle!!

Is there a petition to not bring the show back?

Enjoy your bad karma.

reply

"Enjoy your bad karma."

Enjoy believing bs.

reply

Look, regardless of how you feel about the show, its cancellation puts many actors and crew out of work. When you cheer for the fact that it's cancelled, you're inadvertently cheering for their unemployment. Hence, bad karma.

reply

karma is baloney

reply

It is spelled, "balogna".

reply

It is spelled, "balogna".

'Baloney' is slang for nonsense. 'Balogna' is not; it's just meat.

As for you others, Don't you think that perhaps you are wasting your time by trying to hurt another by bashing their opinions.

That's like saying fans who gloat about the show's merits hurt the feelings of those that dislike the show. Quit being so self absorbed.

Some enjoyed it while others did not. It is merely that simple.

Not really. I thought Camelot was one of the worst shows ever written, but that does not mean I did not enjoy it. Complaining on this board is an extension of that enjoyment. The binary you suggested only polarises members; the show can be appreciated on a multitude of levels, but this would go, more oft than not, unrecognised by fans rushing to the show's defense..

For every show that gets cancelled, there are people who are outraged and would love to see more. Not everyone is going to like something, so please quit acting like everyone must me in agreeance on everything.

...please quit acting like everyone must be in agreement with what you're saying. See what I did there? ;)

reply

One could even try to spell it correctly as well since the correct spelling indeed is Bologna.

No matter how you slice it, the correct meanings are...

Bologna = Luncheon meat.
Baloney = Foolishness, nonsense.

reply

comeon peeeps....only 314 more signatures needed...surely we can do this...its a good show still leaving the main actor:)

reply

I think some of the people tied to this abomination of a show should be out of work- well, a new line of work. The actors will all find other work and most have anyway.

This show is too crappy to warrant some cult-status petition for renewal. You are just wasting your own time and energy on this mess. I highly recommend that you give it up and don't waste time on something that will never ever happen.

reply

I'm hardly "wasting my time." I didn't start the petition. It took me all of sixty seconds to sign it and post it on this message board.

Aren't you wasting your time with this "crappy" show when you come here to post about it?

reply

I would like you to know that I rather enjoyed this series and it saddens me that it was cancelled. I want to know else happens.

If you are looking for something more, then perhaps you might like "The Tudors" about Henry VIII. That is also a very good series. Four seasons long as far as I can tell. Enjoy your day, ladies and gentleman.

i really don't get some people. if you don't like the show, why the f|ck are you here posting about it? i sure as hell don't spend my time on boards of tv shows i don't like. no one forced you to watch the show in the first place, so stop trying to force your damn opinions down everyones throats. there are people out there that can enjoy mindless entertainment without bitching every 2 seconds, so why don't you leave us be, and scramble on to your beloved game of thrones board heh?

In the end, the same reason you're here posting that you like it. To pass the time.

I don't spend time on boards of tv shows that I do like. I can appreciate your position, can you appreciate mine?

no one forced you to watch the show in the first place, so stop trying to force your damn opinions down everyones throats.

It seems like you're oblivious to the fact you're trying to force your opinion down the throats of others here.

I enjoy complaining about the show. As many here do. What is wrong with that?

Wow, dude you must think you're really smart.

reply

@ hey-spongebob
Not really. I'm just trying to cast a little perspective for those that get upset with people complaining about the show.

Thanks for your input, though.

reply

it seems that you are wasting more of your time on a show you don't like.

reply

Why does not liking a show somehow equate to the wasting of one's time?

reply

Look, regardless of how you feel about the show, its cancellation puts many actors and crew out of work.

No, they are free to create GOOD shows now.

When you cheer for the fact that it's cancelled, you're inadvertently cheering for their unemployment. Hence, bad karma.

Bad karma is to wish them having a pointless job.

That is the same as saying if I don't eat cheese I am putting dairy farmers out of work.

Actually... not quite.

Let's say all the dairy farmers in the world were suddenly out of work. And you, as a person who hates cheese, went around saying, "THANK GOD, NO MORE CHEESE IN THE WORLD!"

It's kinda rude to the dairy farmers, no?

reply

It's kinda rude to the dairy farmers, no?

No because I am not the cause of them being out of work, If people make a product that no one wants why should I care if they end up out of work.

So? who cares if it puts people out of work? people are out of work in every field and I'm an actor so I'm nor one of those people who just hates paid actors etc, the fact is if a business isn't successful and the ROI isn't good, then they have every right to cancel it because it's not doing well, these actors/crew can get work on alternative shows.

reply

Is there a petition to not bring the show back?

My thought exactly...

reply

guys, don't delude yourselves, this will NEVER come back. Rome didn't come back neither did Deadwood nor Firefly, why the hell would this lackluster unoriginal cheesy show be brought back?

There's no reason, the ratings weren't even that good and most people didn't like it at all, except from a little hardcore base obsessed with it for some reason completely unknown to me.

reply

Pffffffft.

I'm sorry, but those online petitions are meaningless.

reply

I would sign the petition to not bring it back. One good thing is Clive Standen is moving to Game of Thrones and along with another cast member not mentioned yet.It is good to see actors move onto to bigger and better things. For the excuse that GoT had more production values, bigger budget and whatever the producers of this did the Tudors with the same production values and it was very entertaining. They just didn't have an interesting story or characters this time.Forget about a silly petition just jump on the GoT bandwagon.

reply

I think you're a bit mistaken about Clive Standen. He tweeted that SOMEONE from Camelot was cast in GoT, but he didn't say who. My bet's on someone like Purefoy or Eva Green (though I would hope it was Clive Standen or Peter Mooney, since they were my favorites from Camelot) I think Clive auditioned for Euron Greyjoy (I think I got the character name right?)

I do like Game of Thrones. I'm already on that bandwagon, thank you very much. I was enjoying both shows because I like all things medieval.

Purefoy and Eva Green are amazing choices. I was really hyped to see them in Camelot and we all know how much of a let down that was.

Purefoy as Marc Anthony in Rome was great, I would love to see him in GoT.
And guys for the last time, Camelot had a bigger budget than GoT, they just didn't know how to make to most out of it.

probably spent a good chunk of it on the home alone type booby traps arthur laid out in that pathetic episode. Oh the bad guy is still alive after we thought the fight was over, oh no! hes gonna shoot the king! never mind shoving arthur out of the way just step in front of the incoming arrow!

Ridiculous.

reply

People really need to just stay silent. If you don't like the series, that's good for you. You don't want it back, alright then. But for the people, like myself, who enjoy the series, then maybe trash talk it in your head and not interfere with an effort to bring it back? People say it "deserves to be canceled". Why? Just because YOU don't like it, it needs to be canceled? No one's forcing you to watch. If you don't like the series, ignore it, stop bashing it. If I hate things, I tend to avoid them and not bother with them, because it's a waste of time to insult something that I could care less about.

Complaining about something you don't like is also an insult to oneself. It's like saying, "I don't have anything GOOD to waste my time with, so I'm going to waste my time on something I hate." Just get a life, people!

Right here you're spending time complaining about something you don't like. It seems that, by your own deduction, you don't have a life.

Here is my thing SPOILERS? - where would you take this series if you were to bring it back? All the set up has been done for the rest of the legend, all the interesting characters and conflict have been eradicated (Leontes "Lancelot" Arthur Guinevere love triangle, Morgan getting arthurs baby, Merlin and Sybil leave, the beginnings of the round table, etc). The only way to bring back the series would be to skip ahead 20 years when Morgan's baby grows up to be king. Nothing else interesting will or could happen without inventing new enemies. The only thing that we would see is the rigmarole of Arthur building a kingdom of the round table.

if the powers decided to cancel it, chances are most have moved on to other things, which sucks, was a great show, so very few shows are actually on the air now days sucks to loose a good one, everything is about reality tv junk or tom green/jackass spin-offs. sure some of the actors/actresses in the show weren't the greatest, but i liked the story and it carried past some of the scenes that were harder to get through due to bad acting. have to say making a weak arthur doesn't help a series built on Camelot.

reply

I would rather sign a petition saying: "Erase this crap from my memory and make a great Arthurian film/show".

reply

anyone who worked on this peice of crap deserves to be out of work for their terrible acting skills.

reply

I signed it. Seriously, the show was just getting started. Great final show. Just giving a bit of time to develop the characters, and then BAM, it's gone.

reply

I liked the way they handled magic in the show, and they did some good thinking on how Merlin should fit in, much more along the lines of Malory's work than the wacky stuff we've seen on film.

There's loads of story still to cover - this series was all still set-up. There was a bit of "Robin Hood Prince of Thieves"-style equal opportunities stuff that grated with the rest of it, and Arthur doing home-alone traps was daft, as has been pointed out.

Still, Eva Green, Tamsin Egerton, Claire Forlani... what's not to like?
