If I was married to Leontes.....
I wouldn't have looked at Arthur twice.
Just sayin.
Seriously. Leontes was as close to perfect as it'd get on that show, I guess. And if my mind WERE to wander, it would definitely wander over toward Kay or Gawain, definitely not Arthur...king or not...
shareJust shows you're not drawn to either power or novelty; which is fine, but which is obviously not the case of this Guinevere.
I do agree they made a terrible job of writing her character though; her motivations are very, very murky. All we have to go with is "what if he's not THE ONE???" which was very cheap and very not believable.
"Occasionally I'm callous and strange."
Really. Guinevere's motivation for picking Arthur was obviously written by a man who knows very little about women. It just made no sense. For a storyline that went through the entire series and was the climax of the finale, the show did not focus enough on why Arthur and Guinevere were supposedly in love. Maybe better actors could have pulled it off, but this Guinevere and Arthur looked like they hardly even knew each other based on their interactions.
For crying out loud, Arthur had more chemistry with Morgan in the scene where he was spending the night at her castle. I am going to put that down to the fact that Eva Green can actually act, which cannot be said about Tamsin Egerton.
Yeah, it's so sad Arthur and Guinevere had zero chemistry together. The actors weren't good (probably miscast) and the writing didn't help, I guess. I was really bothered by the fact that Arthur and Guinevere were supposed to be in love but their interaction was unpassionate. I just wasn't able to buy that.
shareLeontes and Gawain - most definitely. Arthur - I wouldn't look twice with them around
