Michael Hirst is developing a new series
Its called Vikings and its going to be about Ragnar Lothbrok, a viking and a historical character. Who else is looking forward to that?

shareAlways looking forward to things with Vikings. But after the experience of Camelot, I will be very mindful not to look forward to it, not to read anything about it, and certainly not to listen to anything the channel or the makers of the show have to say about it. That way I won't be disappointed when it turns out to be yet another Viking fun thing with horned helmets, two-handed longswords, double-axes and huge cart-horses. As long as I don't hear the word "historical" over and over again before the series is released, I'm sure I'll like it. Who knows? I might even have a good surprise and think "Hey! they did do some homework on the costumes and weaponry after all."

Are you referring to Pathfinder? I just watched it yesterday for the first time and I kind of liked it and I enjoyed it more than Outlander
I haven't seen Outlander though I'd love to. I have seen Pathfinder, though I was referring more generally to the stereotypical Viking to be commonly seen, from the Wagnerian Valkyrie to Sci-Fi's Beowulf or Marvel's Asgardians. It's a general thing more than a particular one; like witches wearing pointy hats and riding brooms.

Hey now this is good news. Always room for sword-swinging on TV and movies. It's good that it's historical, Game of Thrones already has fantasy covered and Camelot suffered in comparison.
Still, Camelot suffered in comparison to Spartacus too. It seemed to have such potential but it disappointed me. I'll give it a shot at least.
I'm slightly looking forward (the way shows are axed so quickly now it's hard to get excited about anything) and Clive Standen (Gawaine) is in it
