So...is it worth watching what was made before it was cancelled?

Never even knew this existed... I loved the King Arthur stories growing up (when I was 7, I spent every night for a week reading a 1100 page tomb which included the tale of King Arthur, Kipling's stories, etc, and ever since loved the whole mythos)...

so, is it worth watching, or would I just be disappointed to hit a dead end after 10 episodes or something like that? What kind of screen time does Claire Forlani get? Yes, I am totally in love with her :P So I was thinking of watching it for her alone... was hoping she'd be playing a different role, but oh well.

I thought Forlani was great, so I'm sure you'll like it, even if just for her. As for the Arthurian content: it will probably not be what you grew up with, so it really depends on what sort of Arthurian fan you are: if you want YOUR story, so to speak, you'll be disappointed. If your curiosity is procked by the twists and turns modern writers put on the medieval material, then there's plenty you'll like in that series.
Of course it's frustrating that it's just a couple of episodes, several cliffhangers, and no ending. Personnally, I thought the most frustrating part was the horrible writing of what episodes and characters we do have. A lt of things, in every episode, do not make sense, appear rushed or coming out of the blue, and the characters are inconsistent and two-dimensional (for the most part). It gets on one's nerves after a while. But there's still plenty to enjoy, especially if you don't set your hopes to high to begin with (that was my mistake; I had been really looking forward to an epic Arthurian TV and was sooooo let down). I'd suggest you give a try to the first htree episodes and see if you like it so far.

Hmm. I came to this board to ask the same thing. I saw the first two episodes, and it was interesting and annoying on the same time. Author's claim of Camelot over Morgan's seems to boil down to being male. I know she's supposed to be evil, but she seems to be responding to being screwed over. Merlin also seemed to do nothing to help her while he made sure Authur was sent to a good wholesome family. Author seems kind of sleazy anyway. He slept with his brother's girlfriend. Then he seemed to be going after the wife of one of one of his loyal knights. I like the way he got the sword, but I basically feel like I'm being told he's a great ruler while every other character seems like he or she would be better. Does it get better from there, or is the rest of the series more of the same?

It doesn't get a lot better in my opinion. Morgan does seem to get more evil, rather than just being annoyed at being "screwed over". She is quite manipulative and uses some sort of magic to trick people into following her instead of Arthur, in order to get the crown. Meanwhile she is lovely to Arthur and pretends to be a loving sister and friend. Arthur continues to be a pretty average person, not really a great friend or leader. He sleeps with his champion's fianceé on their wedding day and continues to try and pursue her after she's married. I really disliked Merlin too - he sort of set Arthur off being the king and then kept disappearing and being completely useless. I don't think you missed much from not seeing it.

Basically, if you're a true fan of the King Author story, then you'll watch it despite the acting, writing, and casting of Author! If you can get around that then its fairly enjoyable!

if you're a true fan of the King Author(sic) story

I'm a fan of a lot of the King "Author" stories, like Carrie, Christine, Salem's Lot, Cujo, The Body, Rita Hawyorth and the Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, etc.
