Question (possible spoilers)....
So I was re-watching this series for the first time in several months yesterday and was near the end of the final episode (the scene where Morgan meets Queen Igraine in private and kills her) when I realized that I had misheard some of the dialogue: Almost immediately after being stabbed, Igraine tells Morgan that Uther "was going to have you (her) killed, just like your mother" before Igraine pleaded for him to spare her (we are supposed to assume that Morgan's mother--who is never mentioned by name--was murdered solely so that Igraine could take her place). But, in the beginning of the first episode (in which she confronts both Igraine and Uther), her father tells her "I sent you to the nunnery for an education." This confused me quite a bit with regard to his motives, so I can't help but wonder: Was he really only planning to kill her just so that she would be "out of the way" (so to speak), or did she do something that was considered a capital offense under the laws (such as witchcraft)? Or maybe both?
Thanks in advance,
Amy
