Where are the Americans?

I love Eric Bana, but why did they need an Aussie and a Brit to play these roles? That Charlie guy as Jay was awful. He was struggling to do a proper American accent. Bana got lucky because it was a southern accent, but this Charlie dude... His character grew up in Northern Michigan...almost Canada. His accent would have been closer to a Canadian accent rather than the mushy crap he spewed.

A lot of times brits screw up American accents and just default to a "southern hick" accent. That is what I think this dude tried to do. He would have faired better watching Fargo and trying to imitate that accent.

Are there really no GOOD American actors that could have played these roles?

You obviously haven't watched Sons of Anarchy if you believe Charlie Hunnam isn't a good actor..in SOA his accent is great, in my opinion. If you want to hear BAD accents, watch Pacific Rim and the listen to the guys trying to play Australians.

He's also been living in the U.S. since circa 2004.

Exactly! And in his interviews he barely even has an English accent anymore.
