I was born in Maryland, but moved to Atlanta Georgia when I was a child.. I've been in the south for about 20 years.. Eric's accent was spot on. I was really impressed with his portrayal of a southeast / alabama accent because he nailed it to a T.

Brits and Aussies do southern us accents pretty well. I'm pretty sure it's easier to do them than a regular US accent, for some reason. Check out black hawk down, that had a ton of foreign actors, and they all had southern accents, except Rwanda mcgreggor..he's pretty good with regular us accent.

Not only his accent was spot on, I think his whole portrayal of the character was great. Very underrated actor.
