Whats your favorite Eric Bana performance?

I liked Deadfall a lot. It had a lot of issues, yes, but Bana's performance was really underrated I thought. I knew he was a good actor but I never really got that into him until I watched this. I guess I'm a villains make movies kind of guy and I have never seen Chopper. Anyways, what is your favorite Eric Bana performance?

I think he was brilliant in Munich. I also would have liked to have seen him cast as Jack Reacher instead of Cruise.

Chopper, Munich, Romulus my father. Regrettably Deadfall is not coming out in my country any time soon, but from the trailers and clips, it looks like a pretty good performance in this too.

There are places online you can find a stream of it I believe. If that helps? I want to see Chopper and Romulus my father, especially after seeing Deadfall.

Chopper is awesome! The "stabbing scene" (don't worry, no spoilers, and you'll know when you see it) had me revolted, teary-eyed and laughing at the dark humor, all at once. I guess it is an example of great synergy between the director, Andrew Dominik, and Eric Bana's performance.
The whole movie is available in Youtube, though the Australian accent is quite thick to see it without subtitles, but I guess it is possible to follow it anyway.
And yes, I guess eventually and after a while, if no news about Deadfall appear in my country I will try to see it online, though I much rather see it in a cinema, or at least get the DVD.

It's very difficult to pick a favourite, I must agree that he was good in this as well as Munich and the last Star Trek film, but overall I would have to say Troy, he rocked it !!

tell it like it is....

I gotta say the best performance I seen from him is when he was just himself in a documentary I seen on his life, I was pretty surprised he was such a down to earth simple guy, still maintains all his childhood friends and stuff, it was a pretty decent doc about his life growing up and how his focus was not films but some Aussie muscle car he worshiped and always wanted to race and how he comes to terms with facing the facts of whether or not he ever really loved the car or just what it represented, I thought it was pretty deep, gave you an inside look into a the life of Bana and life itself.

Thats weird, I think I read an article on that doc in Men's Health, lol

I thought Eric Bana was an excellent villian in this movie. He appeared mentally unbalanced in the opening car scenes, and once he shot the first cop, it was Full-On Evil. Great Performance!

Hector in Troy was probably his best character, but a close second is Hoot in Blackhawk Down. I do agree Chopper was amazing, but I didn't like the movie that much and if I remember, the character was pretty repellant.

I enjoyed his performance here and thought he was great in Troy (his perfromance was better than the quality of the film itself).

Didnt like Munich but enjoyed Hanna and Chopper.

Only seen the above films with him in. Any others people would reccomend?

He was really good in this great australian film called 'The Castle' he plays a boyfriend.

There's also Hulk directed by Ang Lee.

In 'The Castle' Bana plays a very minor role - he marries the daughter in the family that is central to the plot.

He was excellent in Chopper and also Munich. As others have posted his role in Black Hawk Down is well played - to me he is the main hero in that movie.

In Chopper try to see the extras where Eric Bana is in the same shot as the real Chopper and he looks very nervous!

He started out his career as a comdedian on Saturday Night Live in Australia (I believe). Living in the UK (now) meant that I did not see any of that. Some people I know from Australia say it's hard to take him as a serious actor but I think he does OK.

Yeah, Hector is my favorite—so far.

Star Trek, the 2009 reboot by J.J. Abrams. He disappears into the villain role. Shaved head, face tattoo, fueled by rage. "Fire everything!" I was impressed. And I do NOT like Eric Bana!
