Which Bio?

I'm curious I did not find any info about what bio the director/writers decided to work with or are they going off of public info of Pac's life?

Some public info on Pac has been proven to be inaccurate/rumor

-His supposed engagement to Quincy Jones daughter Kidada?
Nobody on Pac's side has ever confirmed this rumor started by the Jones family. Also, countless Pac interviews he never once admits to being in a relationship let alone dating a woman. In the Vibe interview he says, "he has not found a female that met up to his standards...I have not found my Queen" That interview was conducted a few months before his passing. Does that sound like a man in a committed relationship? Even in other interviews a month before his passing he has never admitted to getting married. His mother never said in interviews that her son was going to get married. She always discussed the projects he had in mind and tries to preserve his vision/dreams through the foundation to help inner city youths. Pac shared personal things with his mother so...Jones family is lying.

-Leila Steinberg acting like a savior. When letters suggest otherwise.

-Inaccurate info on Quad shooting

-Hughes assault case

-Sexual assault case

* She will be in the film. Not sure how much of a storyline this will be though. She was in Vegas on the night he was shot and was supposed to be in the car but he told her to stay in the hotel because it would not be safe. As far as their relationship...Frank Alexander wasn't a fan of her at all...he details this in his book. The depth of their relationship is documented in this video

*From what I can recall, she was one of his early supporters. She helped him get his his 1st record deal I believe. She had connects with Atron Gregory (Pac's 1st manager). This all lead to hooking up with Digital Underground. On a side-note, Pac was staying with her (since he was homeless at one point in Marin/Oakland) and was rumored to had a sexual relationship with her too. I believe she is still working for his estate.

-Inaccurate info on Quad shooting

* This is situation changed Pac's life and career forever. It will definitely be a pivotal point in the movie. On "who's side" gets shown is anyone's guess.

-Hughes assault case

* This may be a minor scene on this incident. The movie is supposed to show "all sides of Pac" and this was one of his "wild moments".

-Sexual assault case

*This (like the Quad studio shooting) was a major event in Pac's life and the movie will again show "a specific side" of the story. Most people know he wasn't guilty of this but the "judicial system and the police felt differently. He was set up then robbed, all this was a calculated attempt to destroy any credibility he had that would obstruct him from his plan to be the "voice" for the oppressed youth.

Frank Alexander also said that they were never engaged. I'm sure he knows a thing or two considering that he was paid to follow Pac everywhere. He also said that she was rude and would ignore people in a room and act like the center of attention. Pac's peeps said she was more into him than he was into her. Also, Pac told her to stay in the room because he wanted to hang out with the fellas and chill with groupies. If you look at the security footage he is flirting with female groupies in the lobby. Pac was not engaged to her!

I notice Keshia Morris is not included. That is the only documented marriage he had which was quickly annulled once he was released from prison.

Leila does not work for the estate she has her own organization. She turned over poems of Pac that he wrote 18/19 years of age to his mother. In prison letters Pac details the relationship he had with her. There is a reason why he doesn't speak of her because it looks to me she took advantage of the situation room, board in exchange for sex. He cut ties with her once he was out on his own. It all sounds like a mess!

The Quad shooting maybe portrayed differently I don't think the film will reveal the names since the real life individuals are still living. For some reason many cannot discuss the three individuals involved in the shooting till this day.

In the Hughes assault case I never believed the Hughes Bros story. They embellish too much I believe Tyrin Turner's version of the events. Also, in the sexual assault case he had gun charges as well. It was eventually dropped.

In a behind the scenes clip on youtube the producer said to the writers that the writers should look at interviews on youtube and published interviews with Tupac and the movie will write itself...

"Really...Good to know. If they have taken this approach then I don't see the writing being very detailed and deep. They are writing from the "surface" and I don't see or feel it being any good. I guess I have to wait for John Singleton's version. LOL!"

Hopefully they did talk to his mother and close friends and family as well, but yeah that's what was said in the clip

His mom was said to have been the executive producer, and some of Tupac's friends were around on set. The Outlawz are actually in the movie, Treach from Naughty by Nature and Digital Underground members Shock G and Money B were around, and the lead actor's family knew Tupac.

reply

True true... Well Edi and Noble from the Outlawz is in the movie playing themselves (which will look bizarre as they look twice the age as the guy playing Pac and Pac was sort of a father figure to them).

Yaki and Fatal are both dead so they are not in it for that reason and Napolean is a hardcore muslim these days and wouldn't be a part of it even if he was asked.

I didn't know Treach was on set though.

About Afeni Shakur's involvement I think that might be limited to be honest as she had health issues and passed away a couple months ago, she probably gave alot of insight for her and Tupacs relationship though. I think mostly the executive producing slot for her could be a nod of respect.

But yeah at least they had a bunch of people that knew him around, we will see, I hope they don't sugarcoat it too much and portray Tupac as an angel or something who was always in the right (he wasn't) that said portraying him as nothing but a thug would be wrong as well.

Agreed. I think his portrayal should be balanced, just as he was going for with his music. He showed himself as a person all the way.

reply

Also, Lt Hutton who's the producer, knew Tupac himself.

the writers stated in an interview they learned about Pac by watching YouTube videos if that gives you an idea of the 'depth' of their research
