All these movies with monsters that resemble cross-breeds between praying mantises and iguanas ('Cloverfield', 'Godzilla', 'Pacific Rim') are getting old. I want one with giant humans. Perhaps a remake of the 'Amazing Colossal Man', or something about the Greek, Egyptian and Norse gods coming to Earth and battling each other. But I'd like to be serious in tone, and not just campy softcore macrophilia porn.

shareDunno if you're into anime, but Attack on Titan seems to be right up your alley. Humanity pushed to the brink of extinction, holed up in one last, single walled city, ever threatened by the Titans, giant humanoid monstrosities ranging from ~15 to ~200+ ft.
If you're NOT into anime, I still recommend it. Aside from Dragon Ball Z, early Pokemon, and a couple Hayao Miyazaki films, I can't STAND anime. I just really hate it. But after months of constant bugging, my younger sister finally convinced me to watch it with her, and I was goddamn hooked. Seriously, check it out (but avoid the live-action movie, for the love of god)
So you want Kaijus that look like the Titans from 'Attack on Titan'? The last thing we need is even more people accusing Pacific Rim of copying Evangelion, Attack on Titan and other Kaiju/mecha style animes.
shareI can think of two old ones: 'War of the Gargantuas' (giant yeti-looking creatures) and 'Frankenstein Conquers the World' (Frankenstein's monster grows to kaiju size and battles Baragon).
