Did anyone else not like the film. everyone around me loved this film and this is the film that gave Leonardo an Oscar.
I tried watching this on two separate occasions because of all the hype and love for this but this just doesn't seem to be my cup of tea... anyone else feel this way or just me?
You can not like it and it not be a bad film.
shareIMO, it's not good. Just read the Wikipedia page "Plot" for it and savery yourself some time. If anyone deserved an Oscar it's Hardy.

shareThe length for one thing. It was just needlessly long, not unlike many of the new big epic-type movies. It seems like a "standard" now almost. It's fine when it's a movie I'm really engaged in. But this was just sloooww. Specifically, the crawling. I know it's the central theme (for the 1st half), his unimaginably grievous injuries, and fight to stay alive. It's very true to life, I give it that. It all just seemed to drag on and on, over and over for like an hour and a half.
And I was so UNengaged that I have no clue what was going on with that Paqawa(?) story.
Tom Hardy was pretty good. He probably had double LDC's lines.
