2, Can native Americans grow beards? Either they can't or they shave every morning. You don't even see any with a stubble, in any film!

I can answer #2 true full blooded natives can not grow facial hair
share#1 they were in the mountains in below freezing temperatures. If they didn't have the fire they would die. Also the fire will help keep predatory animals away.
shareRe #2 I seem to recall reading somewhere - it might have been in Elmore Leonard's Hombre - that native Americans would tear facial hair out by the root when it started to grow in puberty, thus preventing it from establishing itself. After a time it stops growing altogether.
